Our story
A place to slow down.
Patatsfontein Stay is a family-owned glamping retreat on our fourth-generation working farm, Patatsfontein Boerdery, about 25 minutes from Montagu on the R318.
The idea grew from a difficult season: a series of severe hailstorms struck the farm within six days. We wanted to build something more resilient on the land we love. Out of that experience came a small retreat where guests could rest, reconnect and enjoy the mountains around them.
Today, Oakron and Aloeron each offer their own private setting, open-plan comfort and a wood-fired hot tub. We’re Marinke and Conrad, and we look forward to welcoming you.
Our farm & conservancy
A landscape we care for.
Life here follows the rhythms of water, weather and the seasons. As members of the Pieterfontein Conservancy, we work with our neighbours to protect the fynbos, succulents and wildlife that make this valley home.
Take your time.
Walk the farm roads, watch the light move over the hills or stay in the hot tub until the stars come out. Montagu’s markets, cafés and attractions are an easy day out when you feel like exploring.
