Just a few things to note
Arrivals/Departures:

Check-in
time is from 14:00 to 20:00. Kindly inform us of your estimated arrival time.
·
Check-out
time is strictly at 10:00. Cleaning staff will arrive at 10:15.
·
Prior
to arrival, all guests must complete an indemnity form. This is necessary to
ensure the safety of both our guests and property owners.
·
All
guests are to report to the main farm house, where after they will be escorted
to the accommodation, unless communicated otherwise.
A FEE WILL BE CHARGED PER FULL HOUR FOR EARLY CHECK-INS OR LATE CHECK-OUTS.
Accommodation:
What we supply:

Linen
as well as bath- and swim towels.
· Hand soap, and two rolls of toilet paper.
·
All
cutlery and crockery.
·
Salt
and pepper.
·
Coffee,
tea, sugar, and sweetener sachets.
Oakron:
·
High-profile
vehicles are recommended for access to Oakron.
·
Linen
and towels are provided during your stay. Fresh linen and towels will be
supplied for stays longer than seven nights.
·
Please
wash your dishes before checking out.
·
You
can enter and exit the property at your convenience; no curfew is in place.
·
To
maintain the functionality of our waste system, please refrain from flushing
any foreign objects down the toilet.
·
Smoking
or the use of candles is strictly prohibited inside the tent. Failure to comply
will result in fines.
·
The
tap water is sourced from a fresh fountain and is safe for consumption.
·
Please
note that someone will clean the filters behind the tent every second day
between 10:00 and 12:00. This only applies
to stays longer than three nights.
·
Oakron
is connected to the grid so please check the loadshedding schedule for
Patatsfontein or Montagu prior to your visit
·
The
tent is equipped with a gas stove, whistle kettle and gas toaster. There is no electric
bread toaster, oven or microwave.
Fire Pits:
·
Guests
can purchase wood at a rate of R70 per bag, with payment due before departure.
·
There
is a sprinkler located in the corner of the fire pit area. Before starting a
fire, please open the sprinkler for at least 2
minutes to dampen the
surrounding bushes and prevent wildfires.
·
All
necessary utensils for a braai (barbecue) are located nearby, and a potjie pot
can be found inside.
Aloeron:
·
High-profile
vehicles are recommended for access to Aloeron.
·
Aloeron
is entirely off the grid and uses solar power. No appliance or electronic
device (other than a cell phone or laptop)
may be plugged in. The use of
especially hairdryers, straighteners or heaters are strictly prohibited. During
cloudy/bad
weather, please use electricity wisely.
·

supplied for stays longer than seven nights.

Please

You
have the freedom to enter and exit the property at your convenience; there is
no curfew in place.
·

tendency to have an orange tinge after
heavy rain. Though it is still safe for consumption. If this might be a problem, please bring

bread toaster, oven or microwave.
Fireplace and braai
(barbecue):
·
Guests
can purchase wood at a rate of R70 per bag, with payment due before departure.
·
All
necessary utensils for a braai (barbecue) are located at the fireplace.
Hot Tub:
·
It
is important not to touch the oven while a fire is burning, as it may cause
burns.
·
Always
ensure that the water level in the hot tub is at least 2cm higher than the base
of the chimney.
The lid must be partially opened (there is a slot) while the fire is burning.
·
Guests
can purchase wood for the hot tub at a rate of R70 per bag, with payment due
before departure.
·
Please
make prior arrangements with us if you wish to have the hot tub heated for your
arrival. Please note that there is a
charge of R70 for opening a bag of wood to
heat the tub.
NO PREPARATION OF FOOD
IS ALLOWED ON THE HOT TUB OVEN. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN FINES.
Surroundings:

Our
tents are situated on a working farm, and as such, you may hear farm animals,
tractors, and workers during your stay.
·
The
farm and surrounding mountains are safe for walking and cycling, but please be
mindful of spiders and snakes, as we are
visitors in their habitat.
·
Please
refrain from damaging any plants on the farm, as we are part of a conservancy.
·
The
closest dam to Oakron is not suitable for swimming. If you want to swim in a
dam, please ask your host for directions to
Nek-se-dam.
