Check-in: 14:00–20:00. Please share your estimated arrival time.

Report to the main farmhouse for an escort to your tent unless other arrangements have been made.

Your unique gate code will be supplied before arrival.

Complete your indemnity form before arrival.

There is no curfew.

Check-out is strictly at 10:00; the cleaning team arrives at 10:15.

A fee applies per full hour for early check-in or late check-out.

High-clearance vehicles are recommended, not required.
We advise against low-profile or sports vehicles.

Both stays are adults-only and pet-friendly by prior arrangement; a once-off pet cleaning fee applies.

Additional guests and day visitors are not permitted.

Linen, bath towels and swim towels;
hand soap and two rolls of toilet paper;
cutlery and crockery;
salt and pepper;
a starter supply of coffee, tea, sugar and sweetener.

Firestarters and firelighters are supplied; please bring additional supplies.

Fresh linen and towels are supplied for bookings longer than seven nights.

Oakron: fountain water, safe to drink. After heavy rain it may have an orange tinge. You are welcome to bring your own drinking water if you prefer.

Aloeron: borehole water, safe to drink. After heavy rain it may have an orange tinge. You are welcome to bring your own drinking water if you prefer.

Oakron: connected to the grid. Check the load-shedding schedule for Patatsfontein or Montagu before your stay.

Aloeron: fully off-grid, using solar power and gas.
Guest plug points are for phones and laptops.
Hairdryers, straighteners, heaters and similar high-draw appliances are not allowed.
Use electricity sparingly in cloudy or bad weather.

Both stays offer complimentary Wi-Fi. Cellphone reception is limited.

Both kitchens have a gas stove, whistle kettle and gas toaster.

There is no electric toaster, oven or microwave.

Please wash dishes before departure and do not flush foreign objects down the toilet.

For Oakron stays longer than three nights, the filters behind the tent are cleaned every second day between 10:00 and 12:00.

No smoking or candles inside either tent. Non-compliance results in fines.

Firewood costs R70 per XL bag, payable before departure.

Oakron: before lighting the fire pit, run the sprinkler in its corner for at least two minutes to dampen surrounding vegetation.
Braai utensils are provided nearby and a potjie pot is inside the tent.

Aloeron: utensils are provided at the built-in fireplace.

Do not touch the oven while the fire is burning.

Keep the water at least 2 cm above the base of the chimney and the lid partly open using the slot provided.

Do not prepare food on the hot-tub oven; non-compliance results in fines.

Arrange preheating before arrival if desired. Each bag of wood used costs R70, payable before departure.

This is a working farm, so you may hear animals, tractors and farm workers.

Take care around spiders and snakes and avoid damaging vegetation in this conservancy landscape.

The dam closest to Oakron is not suitable for swimming. Ask your host for directions to Nek-se-dam.
