Directions from Montagu

High-clearance vehicles are recommended, not required. We advise against low-profile or sports vehicles.

  1. From the R62 in Montagu, turn into Cross Street towards Touwsrivier.
  2. At the crossroad, turn right into Bath Street (R318) towards Touwsrivier.
  3. Continue on the R318 for approximately 10 km.
  4. At the Pietersfontein sign, turn right onto the gravel road. Cellphone signal is lost shortly after this turn, so save these directions first.
  5. Continue for 5 km, crossing two cement low-water bridges.
  6. After the second bridge, turn right at the brick bus stop on your right.
  7. Drive between the white house named “Groenland” and the green storage building. Continue straight for another 5 km.
  8. Keep left at the brick walls marked “Patatsfontein Boerdery”, then continue for another 1.5 km.
  9. Enter the supplied access code at the silver gate marked “No Passage – Private Property”.
  10. Continue to the house on the left with stonework around the front door. Report here unless we have arranged otherwise.
