Tucked beneath century-old oak trees at the foot of the Wabooms Mountains, Oakron looks out over the Patatsfontein Valley. Start the day with coffee on the deck as the morning light reaches the hills.
Inside, soft sage linen, vintage furniture and warm timber give the open-plan tent its cosy character. Outside, your own stone hot tub, outdoor shower and braai area invite you to make the most of the setting.

Arrival & getting here
Check-in is from 14:00 to 20:00; please tell us your expected arrival time. Check-out is at 10:00. Report to the main farmhouse for an escort to Oakron unless we have arranged otherwise.
High-clearance vehicles are recommended, not required. We advise against low-profile or sports vehicles. Your gate code will be provided before arrival.
What’s supplied & what to pack
We supply linen, bath and swim towels, hand soap, two toilet rolls, cutlery, crockery, salt and pepper, and a starter supply of tea, coffee, sugar, sweetener and fire-lighting supplies.
Bring your food, extra supplies, swimwear, insect repellent, walking shoes, a torch and a warm jacket. The kitchenette has a gas stove, whistle kettle and gas toaster; there is no oven, microwave or electric toaster.
Water, power & Wi-Fi
Oakron’s tap water comes from a fresh fountain and is safe to drink. Oakron is connected to the electricity grid; check the load-shedding schedule for Patatsfontein or Montagu before your visit. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available, and cellphone reception is limited.
Pets, guests & house rules
Pets are welcome by prior arrangement, with a once-off cleaning fee. Oakron accommodates adults only. Additional guests and day visitors are not permitted.
No smoking or candles inside the tent. Please wash your dishes before departure. All guests complete an indemnity form before arrival. A fee applies per full hour for early check-in or late check-out.
Using your hot tub & braai
Keep the hot-tub water at least 2 cm above the base of the chimney and leave the lid partly open using the slot while the fire burns. The oven becomes very hot; do not touch it or use it to prepare food.
Before lighting Oakron’s fire pit, run the sprinkler in its corner for at least two minutes to dampen the surrounding vegetation. Braai utensils are provided, with a potjie pot inside the tent.
